Hydro OGK, a 100% owned subsidiary of UES, is to focus its small hydro development plans on the Caucasus region as its priority, company head Vyacheslav Sinyugin has said.

Larger developments, such as the 2GW Yuzhnoyakutsky hydro power plant, will be developed in Siberia, Sinyugin added.

The company operates 23 large scale hydro facilities and will be the largest power generator in Russia, with 15-20% of the power market and a combined capacity of some 27 GW, when reorganisation of the national energy infrastructure is completed.
