Renewable Energy Systems Americas (RES), has partnered with Array Technologies (ATI), the global industry leader in solar tracking technology, to supply the project with high reliability trackers that will boost performance with minimal maintenance for the life of the power plant.

The Lamesa Solar Facility, at 102 MW (ac), will bring enough renewable solar energy online to power the needs of approximately 26,000 U.S. homes.

Construction started in July of 2016 and the solar power plant is to be fully operational by mid-2017. RES will install more than 410,000 Trina modules on ATI’s DuraTrack® HZ v3 single-axis trackers. Chosen for its reliability in harsh climates and zero scheduled maintenance for up to 30 years, Array’s DuraTrack HZ v3 system will deliver sustainable electricity to the City of Garland under a 15-year agreement.

“It’s a great opportunity working with ATI and using the DuraTrack HZ v3 system,” said Sean Rooney, VP Construction of RES. “ATI’s tracker has proven reliability which was an important factor for this utility-scale project. The durability and maintenance simplicity of their product adds tremendous value to all the stakeholders.”

“It is always our pleasure to work with RES on any project, and this one is no different,” says ATI founder and CEO, Ron Corio. “The team at RES are true professionals. They continually recognize the value of high reliability technology to solidify the reputable foundation of solar and propel us forward as the fastest growing renewable energy resource in our country.”
