ReneSola Ltd (ReneSola), a China-based manufacturer of solar wafers, has appointed TAN Wee Seng to its board as an independent director. Seng replaces Robert Naii Lee. Lee served as an independent director of the company since July 2008. ReneSola also announced the resignation of Lee from the board. Both changes are effective from April 16, 2009. Seng has more than 30 years of experience in financial, business, acquisition and post-acquisition management.
Previously, Seng served in executive roles, including executive director, chief financial officer and other positions, for Li Ning Company Limited (LNCL) from 2003 to 2008. Prior to LNCL, Seng served at Reuters Limited since 1984 and served as senior vice president in charge of business management in China and other northeast Asian countries from 1999 to 2002. He also served as finance manager in charge of East Asia region financial management in 1998, as managing director of AFE Computer Services Limited, a Reuters Hong Kong subsidiary, from 1995 to 1998. Seng also served as director of Infocast Pty Limited, a Reuters Australia subsidiary, from 1994 to 1995.
Seng is a fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in UK and a fellow member of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors.
Seng has said that, other than his present and previous directorships/ interests in the companies/partnerships disclosed below, he has no disclosures pursuant to the AIM Rules.
