The solar plant, developed and operated under a Power Purchase Agreement between the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission and Recurrent Energy, uses SunLink RMS mounted over 23,000 Suntech solar modules on the flat, seismically retrofitted rooftop of the Reservoir.
The solar electricity generated from this project is fed into the distribution grid to power city properties such as General Hospital, San Francisco International Airport, Muni light rail, and various public schools, and is expected to the city’s reduce carbon emissions by over 100,000 metric tons.
SunLink CEO Christopher Tilley said that the company is pleased to have taken part in such an important effort to advance the City of San Francisco’s renewable energy goals.
