Telecom firm Qwest Communications has signed an agreement with fuel card processing company FleetCor under which FleetCor will use Qwest's advanced networking technology to connect four call center locations in the US.

Under the terms of the expanded contract, Qwest will connect four FleetCor call centers using its iQ Networking Services, a wide area network solution based on multi-protocol label switching technology.

Qwest will also be FleetCor’s exclusive provider of long distance and Qwest Hosted Interactive Voice Response services.

The redundant technology platform is reportedly capable of transferring large amounts of data and customer information quickly and securely, supporting FleetCor’s plans to integrate call center operations.

Waddaah Keirbeck, vice president of IT at FleetCor, said: As the worldwide leader in fuel cards, customers expect us to stay ahead of the curve by anticipating their needs and continuously improve our operations.
