Under the contract, Purestream has agreed to provide a commercial unit to treat their produced water for reuse.
The commercial unit will treat 2,000 barrels of flowback water daily, returning clean finished water for continued use in their fracing operations.
The company said its Avara System can reduce the cost of water disposal by recycling produced and flowback water at or near the well site.
Purestream CEO Neil Richardson said water produced from the Bakken is known for its high salt and solids content, and the Avara process is able to cost-effectively treat this water and use it again for fracing.
