On 11 November 2012, the well was drilled to a total depth of 3,844 meters and petroleum was discovered in formation of Triassic Argilo Greseux Inférieur (TAG-I) reservoir.

During the flow test (Drill Stem Test – DST), crude oil was discovered at a flow of about 5,243 barrels per day (BPD) and natural gas flow at about 5.0 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD).

The aforementioned production was the highest flow rate in Hassi Bir Rekaiz Permits.

PTTEP has planned to commence the first exploration phase of Hassi Bir Rekaiz Permits and drill nine exploration wells by the end of 2011 to early 2013.

Currently, six exploration wells have been drilled with 5 success wells.

Located onshore in the Eastern part of Algeria, Hassi Bir Rekaiz Permits covers an area of 5,378 square kilometers.
