PT Indonesia Power business development director Antonius Resep Tyas Artono was quoted by thejakartapost.com as saying that the new plants will include PLTA Maung in Central Java with a capacity of 360MW and PLTA Rajamandala in West Java with 47MW apart from a number of smaller hydro power plants in Central Java.

"We are still reviewing our studies for the plants’ development and the closest project to be built in PLTA Rajamandala is expected to kick off construction this year," Antonius added.

Antonius further said that the Rajamandala plant is estimated to cost about $150m and is expected to be completed by 2017, while Maung plant will need around $500m in investment. Both the plants will have a combined capacity of about 500MW.

Indonesia Power operates eight hydropower plants with a combined capacity of 797.36MW.
