The gas turbine power facility is one of the thermal and diesel power facilities in the Naga complex, which has an aggregate capacity of 203.80 MW. The assets of the thermal plant are maintained under a rehabilitation, operation, maintenance and management (ROMM) agreement between NPC and SPC Power Corporation.
The company stated that like the other plants that were already privatized, the assets of the Naga thermal pant would be sold on an “as is, where is basis.” As per the bidding terms “prior to the transfer of the asset from its current location, the clearance for such transfer from the Department of Energy must be secured.”
The prospective bidders are expected to submit their letters of interest (LOI) before July 1, 2009, a deadline given for the newly issued tender notice for the divestment of the plant. The deadline for the submission of the bid is September 16, 2009.
The company stated that “Only interested parties that submit an LOI by the LOI submission deadline shall be allowed to participate further in the privatization of the asset.”
Previously, on April 22, 2008, the company aimed at divesting the asset, but somehow it was not executed.
