Primary Petroleum has secured over 200,000 net acres (312 sections) to its land holdings in the Alberta Basin Bakken Fairway of western Montana.

Primary has begun a seismic modeling evaluation on its existing 26sq miles proprietary 3D seismic data, shot in 2008, to aid in the selection of optimum drilling locations.

As well, the company is contemplating the acquisition of additional 3D seismic over its lands as it continues to prepare for the commencement of a drilling program in 2011.

Primary Petroleum president and CEO Mike Marrandino said that its land acquisition strategy, based on identifying geological trends with prospective hydrocarbon potential, is to continue to acquire key acreage to add to its existing land holdings.
