Praxair said that its system allows for large volumes of liquid nitrogen to be delivered, pumped, vaporized and transported for injection into the Kinder Morgan Louisiana Pipeline system that connects the Sabine Pass LNG receiving terminal with various other natural gas pipelines.

John Panikar, vice president of south region at Praxair’s North American Industrial Gases business unit, said: “We are looking forward to helping both Chevron and Total Gas and Power expand their natural gas supply network by enabling them to accept shipments outside of specification limits.”

Praxair’s system includes liquid nitrogen transport unloading stations, liquid nitrogen storage tanks, nitrogen pumping services tie-in stations, and a control system capable of calculating the quantity of nitrogen required based on natural gas volumes and quality coming from the LNG receiving terminal.
