The frame agreement includes detailed design engineering, project management and installation services as well as the supply of equipment. Dismantling of the existing 220kV switchgear and installation of the new components will be managed step by step, in close co-operation with the client. The project will start in July 2016 and will be completed by the end of 2022.

Lienz substation is situated in the south of Austria in the province of Osttirol. This project provides an additional integration into the 380kV transmission grid by means of a third 380/220kV power transformer 550 MVA and a 380kV reinforcement towards Tauern substation in the north.

Upgrading and modernisation of the 220kV switchgear provides a powerful grid integration of Malta/Reisseck Hydropower plants and an adequate interconnection towards Obersielach substation in the east. Due to the complex grid situation all the deconstruction, reconstruction and extension works will be realised in ten well-defined project phases.

The values of the frame contract and call-off orders are not disclosed. The call-off orders will be recognised within the Energy Business Group order stock from Q2/2016 onwards.
