A hydrogenerator modernized by Power Machines has been commissioned at Nuojua HPP in Finland, with the hydrogenerator capacity being increased from 25 MW to 34.2 MW.

Power Machines has manufactured and supplied to the HPP the hydrogenerator stator having capacity of 34.2 MW with thrust-bearing pads, supervised the installation and performed commissioning and startup works as part of the Nuojua HPP Hydrogenerator 3 modernization project.

Fortum Power and Heat Oy (Finland) and the consortium of Power Machines and Energico Oy signed the contract for the hydropower unit modernization in 2014. The Power Machines' consortium partner performed dismantrling, assembly, and supply of the ancillary equipment.

The Russian/Finnish project for Nuojua HPP modernization is another example of the successful collaboration of Power Machines and its Finnish partner. Previously, Power Machines in consortium with Energico Oy completed the project to commission a new power unit at Raahen TPP in Finland in July 2016.
