Power group Enea said the new unit, which is scheduled for completion in second half of 2017, will take up commercial operations in its existing power plant complex in Poland.

The company has already secured PLN4bn ($1.25bn) bond program, according to the Enea CEO Maciej Owczarek.

Enea was expecting to complete negotiations with multilateral institutions regarding PLN2bn ($625.8m) more at the turn of third and fourth quarters.

HPE parent Hitachi will supply the steam turbine and related components for the block, while its sister concern Babcock-Hitachi will take care of the matter of flue gas desulphurization.

The share of Polimex in the consortium stands at about 43%.
