Investment firm Platina Partners has sold five wind sites in the UK to an undisclosed buyer, closing the sale of all the assets from its 2005 wind energy fund called Mistral Windfarm 1.

Mistral Windfarm 1 owned sites with total capacity of 105MW in France and the UK, with the British sites totaling 69MW. The firm sold 36MW France sites in 2008.

Platina now sold the 20MW Burton Wold park, 15MW Garves plant, 14MW each Pates Hill and Milton Keynes farms, and the 6MW Winscales Moor.

The firm said that it has earned a gross internal rate of return of over 40% from the latest sale.

Platina Partners managing partner Thomas Rottner said, "We believe this is the first time that any European general partner has successfully completed a full cycle on a renewable energy fund, having delivered an outstanding return for our investors."

The investment firm, which has over €500m ($660m) of equity under management, said that it will continue to focus on renewable energy infrastructure projects.
