The company had submitted supplementary environmental impact statement for its Edikan Gold Mine project which has been approved by the environmental agency.
With the approval, Perseus will be able to extend its mining operations of Fetish, Bokitsi, Chirawewa that are collectively known as Eastern Pits and Esuajah North gold deposit.
The company said that it has relocated the community members whose farms and dwellings will be impacted by the mining operations at the Eastern Pits.
The company has shifted locals to rented accommodation and built alternative houses for those who have been affected. Perseus will start clearing work and preliminary waste stripping activities in the area to prepare ore mining this September.
The company also highlighted that that it has been producing 200,000 ounces of gold per year since 2011, from Abnabna and Fobinso open pits.
Perseus Mining managing director Jeff Quartermaine said: "Having also recently implemented measures to ensure continuous access to power at the Edikan Gold Mine, we are now experiencing excellent operational performance at the mine and are confident that we will comfortably achieve the previously published production and cost guidance for the 2015 Financial Year."
