Opal Energy, an independent natural gas exploration and production company, has sold its interest in the Boettcher prospect, one of the Wilcox trend prospects in which the company had a working interest.
Accordingly, the company will not participate in the drilling of an initial Boettcher test well, the Vacek 1, as announced in August 2008.
Barry Williamson, president and CEO of Opal Energy, said: We will focus our near-term efforts on finalizing arrangements to complete a well in another of our Wilcox trend prospects, the Kane Brandon, already drilled to a depth of approximately 18,460 feet, as well as advancing our plans in the Victoria County survey area.
