OMV stated that, as an internationally operating company, it complies with all competition regulations and standards. The company said that its contracts with airlines are based on international standards.
The Austrian energy company noted that the cartel proceeding was terminated by the Federal Competition Authority (FCA) in return for OMV implementing transparency enhancement measures. Some of these measures have already been initiated by OMV and further steps will reportedly be taken in line with the FCA ruling.
The withdrawal of OMV from the fuel infrastructure at the Vienna International Airport will reportedly further enhance flexibility of current jet fuel supply possibilities.
In 2005, OMV had built an additional railway unloading terminal to supply the airport with jet fuel in line with market conditions and prices independent from production at its Schwechat refinery.
