US-based drilling instrumentation equipment and technology provider, Oilfield Instrumentation (OI), is now offering the new measure-while-drilling (MWD) offshore buildings for rent.

The company is currently building 12 new engineering labs with DNV 2.7-1, DNV 2.7-2, and the A-60 fire ratings to meet the specifications required for US deep water drillers.

The labs will be available for rent from March 2013.

All the offshore building of OI are built to face the challenging and harsh conditions of the offshore drilling work, while at the same time optimizing the efficiency of operations.

Oilfield Instrumentation buildings division vice president Ken Romero said that OI can serve oil and gas producers’ needs for safe, certified, harsh environment labs on nearly a moment’s notice through its rental fleet or outright customization services.

The company has designed and constructed MWD units that house the engineer in one section and mud loggers in another. The company also can build MWD building as per driller’s requirements.
