Energy services provider OGE Energy has appointed senior vice president Danny Harris as its new chief operating officer. He will retain his title and responsibilities as president of Enogex, OGE Energy's natural gas pipeline business.

Pete Delaney, chairman, president and CEO of OGE Energy, said: Dan has demonstrated excellent leadership skills and considerable operations expertise during his tenure as Enogex’s president and chief operating officer. We look forward to his expanded leadership role in the operations of the utility while he continues to provide oversight to midstream natural gas operations.

The appointment of Mr Harris to the COO role continues the succession plan implemented following the death of OGE chairman and CEO Steven Moore. Mr Delaney, who has held the president’s title since January, was named chairman and CEO after Mr Moore’s death.

OGE Energy also announced the promotion of Keith Mitchell to senior vice president and chief operating officer at Enogex. Mr Mitchell joined the company in 1994, and he was named senior vice president at Enogex earlier this year.

OGE Energy has named Craig Johnston as the vice president of corporate strategy development and marketing. Mr Johnston most recently served as senior vice president for Air Liquide.

OGE Energy also announced that Steve Merrill has been named chief financial officer of Enogex. He most recently served as vice president and chief financial officer for Cayenne Drilling and Sunstone Energy Group.
