A Sale-Purchase Agreement was signed between Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) and Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) for supply of High Speed Diesel (HSD) through the proposed 131 km Indo-Bangla friendship pipeline.
The signing ceremony was held in the gracious presence of Hon'ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh – Her Excellency Sheikh Hasina and Hon'ble Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas (I/C), Govt. of India – Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, top bureaucrats and business representatives from both the countries at an Interactive business session in New Delhi on 10-04-17.
This long term Sale-Purchase Agreement pertains to sale of HSD by Numaligarh Refinery Limited to Bangladesh Petroleum Limited through the proposed Indo-Bangla Friendship pipeline from NRL's Marketing Terminal in Siliguri to BPC's Depot at Parbatipur.
Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi in his meeting with Hon'ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh Her Excellency Sheikh Hasina has agreed to finance this 1 MMTPA, Rs. 363 crore, 131 km HSD pipeline. The route survey for the pipeline has been completed based on which the Detailed Feasibility Report has been prepared by Engineers India Limited (EIL).
