Construction on the solar power project, being developed by NRG and SunPower, commenced in September 2011.
SunPower will complete the design and construction of the project, which is owned by NRG.
Bechtel is providing balance of plant engineering and procurement services and construction services.
Balance of the project is expected to be operational later in 2012 and 2013.
Upon completion, CVSR will power a yearly average of 100,000 homes with clean, renewable solar energy.
Under the 25-year power purchase agreements, PG&E will buy the energy generated by the facility using SunPower Oasis power plant product.
Once completed, NRG and SunPower will jointly operate and maintain CVSR for two years, after which NRG assumes sole responsibility.
