Northland Power Income Fund, a Canadian income trust, will build and operate a 24MW wind farm under a contract awarded by Hydro-Quebec in Frampton, Quebec province.

The company has entered into a 20-year power purchase agreement with Hydro-Quebec under the province’s request for community and First Nations wind proposals.

Northland has teamed up with the Frampton municipality, which holds a 33% interest in the project that is expected to start commercial operations in 2015.

Northland has the 127.5MW Jardin d’Eole wind farm under operation near Matane and a 100MW farm under construction near Mont Louis, both in the Gaspe region of Quebec.
