Two generating units have been commissioned at the 60MW Kurichu hydroelectric project in the Royal Kingdom of Bhutan. Located near India’s northeastern border on the Kurichu river, the project is being funded by the Indian government and executed by its National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC). The remaining two units are expected to be commissioned by the end of the current fiscal year (ending March 2002).
