Natural Power will carry out an energy yield assessment and site classification study for the wind project located 8km off the Holderness coast, East Riding of Yorkshire.
The wind farm will comprise of 73 turbines.
Data from an on site 90m tall mast will be used in combination with data from a meso-scale wind climate model and reference data to deliver a finance grade energy yield and uncertainty prediction.
Natural Power global technical group director Neil Douglas said the company is pleased to have been awarded this work by E.ON.
"We are presently engaged on numerous large contracts for technical resource assessments for offshore wind farms including projects in the UK, US, Ireland, Scandinavia and France," added Douglas.
