Bahrain National Gas Expansion Company S.P.C. and JGC Gulf International have signed $98.7m engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for field pipelines and Sitra storage expansion project.
At a ceremony held on Tuesday 4th October 2016 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Bahrain the Agreement was signed by Dr. Shaikh Mohamed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Banagas Chief Executive, on behalf of Bahrain National Gas Expansion Company, and Mr. Yuji Tanaka, President & CEO of J.G.C. Gulf International Co. Ltd.
The project is expected to be completed in 24 months with commissioning and startup scheduled for October 2018.
The Bahrain National Gas Expansion Company S.P.C. and J.G.C. Corporation of Japan have signed last January an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract agreement for $355 Million to construct a new Gas Processing Plant (CGP-III) in the Bahrain Oil Field.
On the occasion of signing this contract agreement, His Excellency Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa, Chief Executive of the Bahrain National Gas Company (BANAGAS) made the following statement:
"At the outset, it is my great pleasure to express my thanks and gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, the King of Bahrain, to His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, the Prime Minister, and to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, for their unlimited support of the oil and gas sector and for the industrial and urban development being witnessed by the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The signing of this agreement between the Bahrain National Gas Expansion Company and J.G.C. Gulf International Co. Ltd is further evidence of the excellent long-term relationship and we look forward to working in partnership with JGC who, as most of you are aware.
