KfW, on behalf of the project executing agency Elektroprivreda Crne Gore A.D. (EPCG), is inviting pre-qualification applications for consulting services for the modernisation and revitalisation of the 307MW Perucica hydroelectric power plant in Montenegro.

Within German Financial Cooperation with Montenegro, EPCG intends to continue its long term programme to modernize and revitalize the complex power plant installations in order to extend the high head plant’s life time and safeguard its reliability. Phase II of the programme will include modernisation and revitalisation of electrical and electro- mechanical equipment (turbines, generators and switchyard), hydraulic steel structures and rehabilitation of different parts of the civil works.

The consulting services will comprise critical review of existing studies and design, study of the concept and scope of Phase II, design of measures for eliminating the present limitation of plant capacity together with economic and financial analyses of Phase II. Preparation of tender documents and related design work will be included as an option.

Selection and recruitment of the consultant will be conducted through a public international competitive bidding comprising a pre-qualification procedure. Final deadline for submission of applications for pre-qualification is 29 October 2007.
