Under the deal, MHI Vestas will supply 11 of its V164-8.0 MW turbines, optimized to deliver an output of 8.4MW each.
The deal also includes a full scope service contract of up to 20 years.
MHI Vestas will manufacture the blades for the project at its factory on the Isle of Wight in the UK.
The project will also feature 66kV electrical infrastructure, including transformers and switchgears, to allow connection to the 66kV grid.
Vattenfall made the final investment decision for the project in July this year. The company will invest over £300m in the project, which is expected to start operations in 2018.
MHI Vestas Offshore Wind CEO Jens Tommerup said: “Larger and more powerful wind turbines such as the V164-8.0 MW are a key driver of cost reduction.
“The turbine has an optimised rotor to generator ratio and the use of the 8.4 MW power mode will maximise output and increase value for the customer. We are looking forward to working with Vattenfall on delivering leading technology and services to the EOWDC.”
In another development, British Wind Energy has appointed MHI Vestas as the preferred supplier of V164-8.0 MW turbines for the 252MW Deutsche Bucht project in Germany.
MHI Vestas will also secure a 15-year full scope service contract with an energy based guarantee.
The wind farm will be built at a site that is located about 95 km off the coast. It is anticipated to be installed in 2019.
