The planning task is part of Gassnova and Statoil’s technology qualification program targeting installation of an CO2 recovery system at a gas-fired combined heat and power (CHP) plant at Mongstad.
The aim of the planned CO2 capture project is to remove, capture, compress and store CO2 emitted from an existing natural gas-fired CHP plant.
MHI’s CO2 recovery technology will use the proprietary KS-1TM solvent for CO2 absorption and desorption, which was jointly developed by MHI and the Kansai Electric Power.
