Czech Republic-based firm Mavel has signed deals to supply turbines and other equipment to three Lithuanian hydro power projects.
The largest of the three is the 3MW Balskai plant to be located at a site with a head of 13m and a flow rate of 25m3/sec. Mavel is to supply two vertical Kaplan turbines, and anticipates commissioning of the project this autumn.
The other two contracts are for projects located in Volungiskai and Girdzaj.
Mavel has also commissioned the 600kW Jurbarkai hydro power plant, for which it supplied a vertical Kaplan turbine, electrical and control systems.
