The well was drilled to a depth of 3,040ft and found a net pay zone of 18ft in the Carbonera C7 structure.
Maurel & Prom said it is currently evaluating the results of the well and plans to conduct additional work soon (seismic and/or drilling).
According to the company, the Sabanero SE-2 well is the third positive well drilled in the block located 50km north east of Rubiales field.
