Customers of Maybank and Celcom will now enjoy an additional channel, M2U Mobile Service, on which to perform their banking transactions while on the move, anytime and anywhere, the Malaysian bank has announced.

The first comprehensive mobile banking in the country will be offered by Maybank, and it is set to enable its customers, who are also Celcom customers with GPRS/3G supported smart mobile phones, access to the three most popular applications of Maybank2u: that is, bill payment, balance enquiry and fund transfers, in a secure environment.

Speaking at a ceremony to launch the system, Datuk Johar Che Mat said that the introduction of this new service is yet another testimony to Maybank’s success in maintaining its leadership position in internet banking services.

M2U Mobile actually represents the convenience of having a ‘mini Maybank2u’ service available through your mobile phone, said Datuk Johar. What this means is that now customers have the convenience of paying their bills, or undertaking the selected banking transactions in real time via the mobile phone.
