Mactec, an engineering and design, environmental, and construction firm and Gabel Associates, an energy, environmental and public utility consulting firm, have bagged an indefinite delivery Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) to provide energy audits for the National Park Service (NPS).

Mactec is teaming with Gabel Associates and as part of the BPA will perform services in Alaska, Pacific West, Intermountain, National Capital Region and Midwest. These audits are being funded through the federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

The scope of work under the agreement involves development of a baseline of end user energy and water consumption, benchmarking facilities in the EPA’s Energy Star database and conducting energy and water audits.

Mactec will also identify potential energy and water conservation measures, assess retro-commissioning and assess sustainable building implementation plan guiding principles.

The NPS plans to gather information about its facilities in its parks as the first step of a plan to decrease its greenhouse gas emissions and power and water consumption.
