The groundbreaking took place on April 29, 2009. The groundbreaking was the culmination of an effort that began on October 16, 2008, when LCS was officially selected by ExxonMobil as the design builder for the laboratory project.
The excavation and site development began on April 30, 2009 for the 10,000 square foot single story facility.
The company said that the new facility follows the latest standards for laboratories by using energy efficient lighting, electrical, and mechanical design. The lab also incorporates design features that enable the efficient use of work space and allow for a hands-free work environment.
Bob Wiggins, senior project manager of LCS, said: “LCS shares ExxonMobil’s goal that ‘Nobody Gets Hurt’ and followed our own safety guidelines throughout the project.”
