The proposed project consists of constructing a new 138-kV transmission line to connect two new substations to the existing Leander and Round Rock substations.
This infrastructure is needed to support the growing population and energy needs of the region. LCRA TSC is working on this project with the Public Utility Commission (PUC), which will make the final decision on the route to be constructed. It is PEC’s understanding that the proposed segments are based on a number of factors including cost, public input, environmental considerations, aesthetics, cost and land use.
