Landslides have destroyed hundreds of homes in the Three Gorges dam area, according to a report in a Chinese internet magazine, Hua Xia Wen Zha.
Wushan County was said to have suffered devastating landslides along the banks of the Yangtze river. Over 1200 people lost their homes in a 18,000m2 area.
Geologists believe that the recent landslide disasters were caused by this summer’s floods and a failure to repair the landslide-damaged riverbank, the magazine said.
