BESCOM distributes power to eight districts in the Karnataka state, including the city of Bangalore.

The company has recently secured a contract from India-based West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company (WBSEDCL) to deliver over one million digital meters.
Landis+Gyr Asia Pacific executive vice president Oliver Iltisberger said for the second time in less than a month, the company has been selected for a high volume meter contract with a India-based company.
"Meeting customer expectations with high quality devices has been a clear and positive differentiator for us in this market," Iltisberger said.
Landis+Gyr is an independent growth platform of the Toshiba and 40% owned by the Innovation Network Corporation of Japan.
The company operates in 30 countries in five continents with 5,200 employees.
