Featuring 9,072 solar modules, the 2.3MW facility is expected to generate around 2,680MWh of electricity annually, which will power approximately 820 houses.
Kansai Electric Power will purchase the output from the project through Japan’s feed-in-tariff system.
Kyocera TCL was formed in 2012, to develop solar power plants in Japan using its abundant water surfaces. The joint venture started installing floating solar power generating systems last year.
Last month, the company commissioned two floating installations, which include 1.7MW and 1.2MW plants, at two different sites in Hyogo Prefecture.
A 13.4MW solar power installation is also being developed by Kyocera TCL on a dam reservoir in Chiba prefecture.
