Kyocera Corporation has completed an expanded solar module assembly plant in Tianjin, China.

The company also began the construction of its second solar module assembly plant in Kadan, Czech Republic, and expects to complete it this year.

Kyocera’s two new plants in Europe and Asia, along with its other existing module assembly plants in Japan, Mexico and the US, are expected to help the company meet its annual production target of 1GW by FY2013.

Kyocera president Tetsuo Kuba said the company will continue to develop its solar business by utilizing its strengths in manufacturing technology and expanding its global production capacity.
