Construction of the 122MW Keyal Khwar hydropower project in Pakistan is expected to start in April this year, newswires have reported.

The project, being developed by the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda), is located on Keyal Khwar, a tributary of the Indus River. The development is likely to cost EUR180M and is being part funded by Germany’s KfW.

Detailed engineering design for the project has been completed, and the prequalification of firms for civil and electro-mechanical works of the project is currently underway.
