Kentz Corporation has been awarded a framework agreement by Qatar Shell GTL Ltd to provide services for the Pearl gas to liquids (GTL) plant at Ras Laffan Industrial City in Qatar.

The GTL plant a joint development by Qatar Petroleum and Royal Dutch Shell.

Kentz will provide engineering design, construction supervision and procurement services for plant changes and projects at Pearl GTL plant, as well as to its offshore platforms, harbor tank farms, offloading jetties and connecting infrastructure.

The contract has been signed for three years with a two year extension option.

The company said that the services will be executed in the Kentz Doha office using existing multi-discipline engineering teams, project management and project services resources.

During its peak production, the facility will produce 140,000bbl/d of GTL fuels and products and 120,000boe/d of natural gas liquids and ethane from two trains.
