The Kentucky State Board on Electric Generation and Transmission Siting has approved a proposal of Vectren Corp to build a high-voltage electric transmission line in the Henderson area.
The 15-mile, 345kV power line will extend mostly through the Henderson County, with a small portion in Webster County.
This will connect Vectren‘s AB Brown power plant in Posey County, Indiana, to a Big Rivers Electric Corp substation at its Reid power plant near Sebree.
The line is one end of a 70-mile line that will also extend from the Brown plant to Duke Energy’s Gibson power plant northwest of Evansville, Indiana.
Evansville-based Vectren filed an application with the Siting Board in July 2010, and the application was amended in mid-October to address certain routing concerns.
