The Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA) has refurbished its Kariba South power station at a cost of about US$14M. The upgrading of the turbines is expected to significantly improve turbine efficiency and provide an increase in output.
The Kariba dam is the third largest hydroelectric power reservoir in the world with a design volume of 180B m3.
