Three Scandinavian firms have joined forces to develop a large pipeline of wind energy in northern Norway.
St1 Norge, Vindkraft Nord and Ny Energi have announced plans to develop two wind farms totalling 900 MW of capacity in Finnmark county. Development work and environmental assessments will take up to three years, the companies said.
The two wind farms will comprise a 700 MW site in Lebesby municipality, known as Davvi, and a 200 MW site in Tana called Borealis. The projects could be connected to both the Finnish and Norwegian grids, given their proximity to the border.
St1 Norge is the Norwegian subsidiary of Finland’s St1 Nordic.
