The power plant will be equipped with three GE aeroderivative gas turbines.

The LM2500+G4 aeroderivative gas turbines will use coke oven gas, a byproduct of the coking manufacturing process, as fuel and turn it into electricity.

GE is also providing services for a period of 12 years with one spare engine to ensure maximum operability at the new plant.

Jiangsu Tianue Energy & Chemical Group chairman Teng Daochun said that GE’s technology allows the company to turn an environmentally harmful gas into a useful tool to produce energy.

"In addition, we will be able to reduce CO2 emissions by 300,000 tons per year and supply stable electricity to Pei County," Daochun said.
