Ithaca Energy said that the workover program of the second well (A23) on Beatrice Alpha in the UK North Sea has been completed.

Following the workover program, stable production from the well has increased by approximately 115% to about 560 barrels of oil per day (bopd).

The company said that the output represents 280bopd net to Ithaca, which exceeds company’s expectations.

Ithaca said that activities will begin in early January 2011 on the third workover well of the campaign
(Beatrice Alpha well A28).

Ithaca has a 50% in the Beatrice field while its joint venture partner Dyas UK has the remaining of the 50%.
