The Netherlands-based emergency pipeline repair systems (EPRS) and pipeline integrity services supplier, Independent Risk Management Systems (IRM Systems), has announced its plans to expand the range of pipeline services.

The company is now offering full pipeline integrity management and emergency response services, including inspection, repair and EPRS.

IRM provides guidance about pipeline integrity management, inspection, repair and maintenance, but considering the demand for full range of integrity services, the company has broadened its portfolio.

The new portfolio includes project management of all the necessary aspects of pipeline integrity management, both offshore and onshore.

IRM’s new range of services include risk assessment and integrity management planning, emergency response preparedness, inspection, cleaning, monitoring and testing, integrity assessment, and mitigation, intervention and repair.

Apart from the services, the company will also support pre-commissioning, re-commissioning, and de-commissioning support and related engineering and design functions.

Independent Risk Management Systems general manager Rutger Schouten said the industry is witnessing a shift in the way pipeline operators are managing pipeline integrity.

"Managing risk – and being truly prepared in every aspect in the event of an emergency – is no longer viewed as ‘nice to have,’ but as a ‘must have’ for oil and gas operators," Schouten added.

In line with the new expansion and to meet the growing demand for pipeline integrity and emergency response services, the company has hired new staff.
