Concerns on the delayed Bhutan’s hydropower projects’ implementation have also been expressed by Modi, Dorji said.

"This shows his deep concerns and he wants to move things quickly," Dorji added.

Earlier in April, the two nations entered into an agreement for the development of joint hydropower projects aimed to boost further bilateral strategic partnership.

The Inter-Governmental agreement provides the framework for the development of four hydro-electric projects including 600MW Kholongchu project, 180MW Bunakha project, 570MW Wangchu project and 770MW Chamkarchu project.
