The Rugby wind power project, consists of 71 wind turbines, and produces 149MW of renewable energy.
Commenting on the PPA, UMMPA chairperson Chuck Christensen termed it a smart economical decision for the agency and its members.
The UMPPA is a municipal joint action agency and will provide clean energy to its 15 members in Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota, US.
"We are purchasing a clean, renewable energy source, and locking in an affordable, long-term fixed rate for our members, which is so important in today’s energy markets," added Christensen.
The power purchased from the Ruby wind project will enable UMMPA’s members to fulfill their respective state renewable energy requirements.
