The company drilled the exploration well to a depth of 11,844ft in a water depth of 2,329ft.
The Jasper Explorer rig was used in the drilling of the Sabu-1 well which is the first exploration well drilled by the company in its Guinea concession.
Last month, a 4,000 sq km 3D survey covering the turbidite fan play in the most prospective deep water portion of the concession was completed for Hyperdynamics, and it is currently being processed.
Hyperdynamics operates the Guinea concession with a 77% interest, while Dana Petroleum holds the remaining 23% stake.
